The official site is EricSardinas.com. What is a fan site? A fan site is a website created by one or more fans. Who are you? Just a fan. (You can find out more about me here.) Do you know Eric Sardinas? His band? No and no. Really? Really. The band is very accommodating of their fans, so I've had my brushes with greatness. I've met two of the current band members (Eric Sardinas and Levell Price), and three former drummers (Chris Frazier, Scott Palacios and Mike Dupke), but it's not like they come over to my house for calzone and conversation. They don't endorse this site, nor do I have any independent knowledge that anyone in the band has visited it. (This site does not use cookies or counters, and I don't care or keep track of what people or how many come here.) I can't contact the band in a special way, I can't ask them for things, and frankly, I don't want to bug them. If you don't believe me, and are still laboring under the impression that I have some sort of direct line to the band, then please up your dosage, because the current level ain't doin' squat. Then where can I contact them? Where am I supposed to send fan mail? Your guess is as good as mine. I don't know of any official fan mail address, so I've set up the Virtual Telegram Project here, as an informal and unofficial alternative. How do I join the Eric Sardinas fan club? I don't think there is one. If there is, I haven't heard of it, so it must be top-secret. However, until something better comes along, you are welcome to hang with me here. Okay, if you really don't know them, then where are you getting all the information on this site? Explain that! Everything on this site is readily available online, on albums, or in the traditional press. So, you're saying you don't have any inside info? Correct. Why did you create this site? To what purpose? Although RespectPerfection.com is intended as an expression of support and admiration for a talented group of musicians, it's true purpose is three-fold: 1. To provide me a soapbox for disseminating my personal opinions and tastes, 2. To serve as an informal resource center and clubhouse for Eric Sardinas fans, and 3. To educate the public about a band that I think is deserving of more acclaim and success than they have thus far gotten. [I'm quixotic, and this is my preferred windmill these days... Also, I'm a nerd, and this is precisely the kind of thing we do.] Who is the site for? My target audience is Eric Sardinas fans, and the uninitiated. Why is this site called "Respect Perfection?" 1. Because "Respect Tradition" was already taken, and 2. Because my name (Tammy) means "perfection." [I am far fonder of its alternate meaning ("little palm tree"), but let's face facts: "RespectTheLittlePalmTree.com" just sounds stupid.] "Respect Tradition?" Huh? "Respect Tradition" is the text of Eric Sardinas' back tattoo. It is intended (I believe) to be a tip-of-the-hat to blues musicians who came before him. What's that thing with the snake and roses on the front page? That is the site logo, and my attempt at a virtual still-life interpretation of the tattoo mentioned above. This site looks screwy! How come? Screwy is in the eye of the beholder. However, if you are using any browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer, or any screen resolution other than 800x600 pixels, screwy is probably an understatement. This site is designed for IE and 800x600 resolution, and hasn't been tested on any other configurations. [I'm lazy like that.] My recommendation? Fire up IE and see what you're missing. Jesus! Aren't there any other bands that you like? Oh god, yes... WAY too many to list them all (though I do drop hints on the site here and there). My all-time favorite band is Aerosmith, and my favorite new band is The Darkness. What do you get out of this? Do you make money off of this? You can actually make money doing this? Interesting... But, no. The site is just a hobby, and I pay my own freight. I don't accept donations. I do accept content submissions (pictures, scans, show reviews, music reviews, haiku, fan fiction, sonnets, hate mail, etc.). Okay, then, what DO you want? What's your ulterior motive? Utter world domination! [Insert evil laugh here.] Other than that, I just want to speak my mind, learn more about the band and their music, meet other fans online, have fun, and improve my web skills. What are you, some kind of psycho? Yes, the certifiable kind. Ask anyone. |
