WOW!!!! OMG!!! What can I say? I was blown away! These guys ROCK!
When Tammy says go see them - you MUST GO SEE THEM! I had heard most of the latest CD and while I thought they were OK - I was not expecting much at the show. Boy, was I ever wrong. These guys are WAY better live than on CD. The action, the passion, the hot blistering music, all were amazing.
Eric is the Michael Jordan of blues guitarists! He moves his mouth in all these weird positions like he's making the sounds come out of his mouth instead of through the guitar! However, I soon forgot to watch the mouth contortions as his hands were a blur and I was at a loss - how can anyone's hands move that fast? It seemed impossible. I found myself many times during the night with my mouth hanging open in amazement - how does he do that?
The guitar appears to be an extension of Eric's soul - more so than any other guitarist I've ever seen. He is one with it, and the sounds he produces are amazing. Early in the night he was so excited he couldn't stand still, he was all over the stage, wiggling his feet and legs. Later, he had calmed down a bit and played to the crowd - even blew Rick a kiss as Rick took a pic! He really seems to enjoy himself!
One of my favorite parts of the show was when he stood at the front edge of the stage, away from the microphone, and sang a capella to the crowd. Amazing! Was I ever glad we had front row seats!
Another highlight - a fan brought his dobro guitar into the show for Eric to sign. Eric, of course signed it but only after he played it first - wow!
Several times during the night - there were more photographers than dancers in front of the stage. There were at least 6 people taking photos all night.
During the finale, Eric reappeared shirtless and jumped into the crowd, playing throughout the bar, walking up to tables like a mariachi band! It REALLY energized the crowd even further! I would recommend Eric do this earlier in the show - cause it really got people on their feet and dancing!
In between sets and at the end of the night, the band was available for pics and meeting the fans. I found all 3 of them very nice, easy to talk to, and down to earth! Eric appears actually shy when he's off the stage.
If you have never seen these guys - you MUST GO! They are phenomenal!
